Baroque / Stauffer Style Headstock ~

The famous Stauffer headstock shape is actually not Baroque, but from the Romantic guitar period. I, however, like the word Baroque so that's what I call it.

This headstock can be used on both guitars and ukuleles with geared planetary tuners such as Gotoh UPTL's or Pegheds or with dedicated Stauffer plate.

For Ukuleles

An engraved plate (any design) can be custom made to order for Ukuleles. Gotoh Stealth tuners are used under the engraved plate to replicate the dedicated Stauffer plate tuners shown below.

For Guitars

For a truly authentic look, the dedicated Stauffer style tuners are available.

Originally designed in 1825, the modern reproductions are true to the original design but with better mechanics. These luxury tuners carry a handsome upcharge.
